As a non-profit, WGNC is totally dependent on membership volunteers to organize and run the meetings and general club endeavors. Do you have a particular skill or just a willingness to help us in the coming year?

The board of directors handles most functions, but we are few and for most positions there is no backup.

We have an immediate need for a primary videographer to fill in for Norm Cloutier, who has taken on the role of president for 2016. If you attend most meetings and have any experience behind the camera, or just a willingness to learn, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Bob Reuss has moved back to his role as treasurer and Dan Roscigno has stepped up to manage membership as well as produce the monthly newsletter.

Chris Boerner remains as VP with Steve Criscenzo joining the board to help with finding and organizing demonstrators. They are making a serious effort this year to lock-in demonstrators months in advance so you will know who and what to expect long before the meeting week.

Lyn and Bob Aumock continue their excellent work in running the club library and organizing break-out sessions, respectively.

Other board members include Gene Presson, who serves as our representative to the North Carolina Symposium, Todd Hartzel who manages the raffle and Glen Thiess and Mike Bulat, who step in as needed to help manage club business. Lars Nyland serves as our primary club photographer, with Ed Mastin filling in as his backup.

As you know, we can always use help with shows and public demonstrations that we run throughout the year. We promote those activities as they arise, but we also need to extend our core base of volunteers we can count on for almost every monthly meeting.

Perhaps you would be willing to commit to arriving early or stay late each month to oversee room and demonstrator set-up, or clean-up afterward. Too often this kind of work ends up being done by members who already do a great deal for the club. Any commitment to help would be appreciated.
